Feb 16, 2019Geri Ann Glasco obituary, from Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City Illinois…Geri Ann Glasco, 24, of Lafayette, Louisiana, went home to be with Jesus on Jan. 24, 2019. Geri Ann was born to Gerry and Vickie Glasco on Feb. 12, 1994, in Marion.Geri Ann was currently serving as the Ragin' Cajuns' Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach at University of Louisiana. She loved her team and the girls she was working with daily. She was looking very forward to helping lead the Ragin' Cajuns' to battle in the 2019 season.Geri Ann's softball career began at Washington Middle School in Johnston City. Geri Ann, along with a very special group of teammates, was able to win two state titles in her sixth and eighth-grade seasons in 2005 and 2007. During her eighth-grade year in 2007 the team finished 27-0 and won the State Championship by run rule.Geri Ann then attended high school at Oconee County High School in Watkinsville, Georgia where her teams won state championships in both her freshman and senior seasons. Geri Ann earned numerous awards during her prep career including being named First Team All-State all four seasons. Following an outstanding senior season in which she hit 24 home runs and had a 19-0 record as a pitcher, she was named ESPN's National Gatorade Player of the Year.During Geri Ann's freshman year at the University of Georgia she was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Year as well as an Easton and NFCA All-American, and First Team All-Region. Her sophomore season Geri Ann and the Bulldogs won the SEC Tournament Championship with Geri Ann going 3-for-4 with a home run, a run scored and 2 RBIs in the Championship Game. Geri Ann played her junior and senior seasons at the University of Oregon. The Ducks won back-to-back PAC 12 titles, played in the Women's College World Series in 2015 and Glasco was named All-PAC 12 in 2015 and All-Region both of her seasons playing for the Ducks.During her senior season in 2016, she was selected as the 16th overall pick by the Akron Racers in the NPF draft and competed in the summer of 2016 for the Racers.Outside of softball ...
